Nadine’s Story: “I was struggling with exhaustion”

Age: 33

Birth: First baby, normal delivery

Issues:

  • Split tummy muscles
  • Exhaustion
  • Sense of loss of me
  • Difficulty sleeping when baby was sleeping

Did postnatal yoga for:

  • Relaxation
  • Time for myself
  • Help with closure of tummy muscles
  • Strengthening of core and pelvic floor

At the end of the course:

  • Tummy muscles closed from 4 fingers to 2
  • Finally able to switch off and sleep when could
  • Found a sense of calm and re-alignment with myself, reconnected with me
  • Strength to deal with baby’s sleeping problems
  • Able to progress to beginner Ashtanga Yoga class

I would recommend post natal yoga because:

My baby was not sleeping well when I started postnatal yoga and I was struggling with exhaustion. I was unable to nap or drift off easily when my baby was asleep as my nervous system was in overdrive since giving birth. Postnatal yoga allowed me to take some time for myself to relax and revitalise. It’s hard to articulate the positive impact it had, but I left class each week feeling calm, rested and more like myself. The exercises are very gentle, but I felt stronger and more toned by the end of the course and the split in my abdominal muscles had improved. Being with other mums in similar situations was reassuring and Katie is a great teacher who intuitively knows exactly what you need. The deep relaxation she does was particularly amazing, I miss it!
